Passionate, reviving, and genuine, describe the heart from which Scott speaks and ministers. In four decades of pastoral ministry, he served churches in California, Hawaii, and South Dakota. He is the founding pastor of Landmark Community Church.
Pastor Scott has three grown kids and three grandkids. He experienced divorce, but is remarried to Sara (Carstensen), his South Korean-born, South Dakota raised, partner in life and ministry. Sara has four children. All seven of their kids reside in South Dakota. Sara shares a deep love for the Lord and for this country, is a skilled photographer and digital marketing professional, and creates social media, sermon visuals, and website content for Landmark Community Church.
Pastor Scott is a courageous voice in the pulpit, is allied with Turning Point USA Faith, and is the Chairman of the Family Research Council's South Dakota Watchmen Pastor's Network. He was one of 33 pastors in 2008 to work with Alliance Defending Freedom’s “Pulpit Initiative” to challenge the unconstitutional Johnston Amendment that restricted freedom of speech in American pulpits. He is a former member of the South Dakota House of Representatives, and a former Chairman of South Dakota’s state family policy council. Scott holds Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in theology, and holds the title of Grand Master (7th degree black belt) in the Korean Martial Art of Taekwondo.
